Just Magnolia and Penny Black

Hi blogging buddies. I've made a card for this weeks 'Just Magnolia' challenge, the theme this week is pink and green so these K and Co papers were just perfect to start with, I have been sent this little Tilda image and I'm not too sure who it is from, I have an idea but don't want to put their name in case it was from someone else lol, so thank you to whoever sent it to me. I've also used a little paper doilie (not sure of the spelling) the image is coloured using distress inks. Thank you Sharon for the cute little buttons and filigree Accents, I love them. x
A little penny black bookmark I made for my daughter Jessica, I just love this stamp to bits and its perfect for a little bookmark. I am entering this into the 'Penny Black' Challenge, this week the theme is 'Anything Goes'.
Right better get back to my Fry lol, My partner Gary came home yesterday after working in Guyana, South America for the last 5 weeks, its great to have him back, my son Kalen hasn't left his side from he's walked in which leaves a bit of free time for Mummy lol, so I have the 'pan on' as he's missed his 'frys' soda bread, potato bread, sausages, egg, bacon, mushrooms and beans, followed by a nice strong cup of Nambarrie Tea. Enjoy your day. x

Stamp With Us

I Just found a lovely blog called 'Stamp With Us' their challenge at the minute is a recipe
4 brads
1 ribbon
2 Designer papers
So, as my Mojo is in sleep mode due to my son Kalen being unwell (he seems to catch everything thats going about at the minute) I thought I'd make a simple card using that recipe. Of course first I had to check that the blade on my paper trimmer was still sharp, so what did I do? .....yep...ran my finger over it!!! Yep.....it was sharp alright! lol. Now, if my children had done that I would have said "That was silly...What did you do that for? Well you'll not do it again will you?" So no....I won't be doing it again and Yes, I should practice what I preach.
Ok, back to my card, its pretty simple so there is no need to explain what I did as you can see for yourself so here are the products I've used:
S.U. Stamp Sets: Tart and Tangy and Best Yet.
S.U. Stampin Up Designer Paper: Summer Picnic.
S.U. Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon.
S.U. Cardstock: Whisper White, Old Olive.
S.U. Punches: Scallop Oval, Large Oval, Scallop Edge.
S.U. Inks: Real Red, Barely Black.

Creative Card Crew ~ Round and Around

Hi Everyone, hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Had a bit of a hectic one myself, started off on Saturday morning.......all I'm going to say is that involved a big strong horse and a weak 'flying' Donna lol (No one was hurt just a bit red faced and it wasn't the horse). Don't ask. Well, I still managed to make a card for this weeks Creative Card Crew challenge, this week the theme was 'round and around' so good excuse to get my Stampin Up On Board 'Batch of Blooms' out, I chose the one of the circles, two leaves and two of the flowers and covered them with SU 'Summer Picnic' papers, tied some blue ribbon to the ring, then I took my new Elzybells stamp and sentiment and coloured these with my promarkers on Whisper White paper, I then attached this to the back of the circle and attached it to my card. Right off to get the uniforms ironed and hopefully put my feet up for a while. x

One Stop Craft Challenge~ Something New

Good Morning. Its time again for this weeks One Stop Craft Challenge, our theme this week was chosen by Maggie and I know all the design team really enjoyed doing their samples for this, the theme is 'Something New'. Maggie would like everyone taking part to try something new in their projects, this could be a new technique, a new project or maybe a new product, just let us know what is new about your project.
There are a few new things I have tried on my card this week, the first was making a background pattern using ink and baby wipes, I was really happy with the result and then I used some new stamps from Stampin up and last but not least I decorated the inside of my card by masking the centre and randomly stamping a border around it. You really have to check out the rest of the design teams projects there are some fabulous new techniques I can't wait to try and I'm sure you will all inspire us this week as much as we hopefully inspired you. Don't forget we always have a great prize on offer for the randomly picked winner and this week I wish I wasn't part of the design team and could enter myself lol. Check out the challenge blog and see for yourself. Enjoy your weekend. x

Forever Friends~St. Georges Day

Another little card I made last night, this time for the Forever Friends Challenge the theme being 'St Georges Day' so obviously the colours are red and white. I decided to do a single layer card and a little tip is.........use the card you usually colour with to make your card blank because I didn't lol I then found out that my distress inks just soaked up into this card so quickly that it was hard to blend, so next time I'll do it right. Anyway, as I said I have used Distress inks and a water brush to colour these cute little bears (Thanks again Paula for my gorgeous Stamp x) The colours I use are 'Tea Dye' and 'Tattered Rose'. I have also used my new Stampin Up Punches 'Scallop Oval Punch and Large Oval Punch' to make a little window at the bottom of the card and the sentiment poking through from the inside. To finish I have tied a polka dot ribbon around the card and using my Cropadile I have punched little holes and added eyelets. Enjoy the rest of your day, hope the sun is shining on you. x

Digital Tuesday Challenge.

Hi Crafters, its a beautiful morning today in N.Ireland so before I disappear out into the garden I thought I would upload some cards I made last night. This little card is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge, my lovely friend Maria has become a design team member and I know she is going to be a great inspiration to us crafters, so I decided to use a technique that she used and inspired me with, using a scoreboard to emboss a grid background, fab eh? I have used one of Chris's beautiful digital images 'Vicky' and coloured her with promarkers, I love this image! I have stamped little flowers on the embossed grid that is from a Stampin Up set 'Simply Said'' and again using my Stampin Up products I have scalloped the bottom of the green card with my punch. The theme is 'Brown, Green and one other colour' I have chose just to stick with white although a neutral colour is allowed and doesn't have to be counted as your third colour. This is to celebrate Earth Day.

Just Magnolia

I just had to get my entry into the new challenge 'Just Magnolia' have you seen the prize for the first winner? What am I saying........of course you have! Infact I'm probably one of the last people to do my card for this challenge lol. Ok, about the card, well I have coloured the image using promarkers, my son Kalen says that her hair looks funny and he'd be right lol, I just can't seem to get the hang of shading especially hair, all tips welcome! I have used some paper that I got free from a magazine and matt and layered using pink and white pearl card. The sentiment is from Stampin Up ' Best Yet' and I made the little flowers with an Xcut punch then added little Kanban pearls. Hope your all having a lovely day, the sun is hiding at the minute so I'm off to do the shopping I've been putting it off but unless the children want pineapple chunks for tea I'd better go. x

Choo Choo

I made this card last night, my son, Kalen, informed me that he wanted it for his birthday which isn't until July but he want to keep it up until then, I think it will have to be dusted now and then lol. I have used all Stampin Up products on this card the little trains are from the 'Choo Choo' set, the sentiments are level 1 hostess set 'Best Yet' and the track is 'Right on Track' , its very simple but colourful, I think children like that don't they? I am entering this card into the Daring Cardmakers Challenge, the theme is 'games and toys for boys' so fits in perfectly.

Batch of Blooms

Hi everyone, how's your day going so far? All the children are back to school now so I've been trying to get the house back in order again, not that it will stay that way lol just until about 3 O Clock. Well I got some more new stampin up products yesterday so I spent last night playing with my new toys, can you guess what they are? On board batch of blooms (chipboard, I Love them) and two new punches, scallop oval punch and large oval punch (these are in the new mini catalogue) These are now my new favorite toys so I'm entering my card into the Dutch Dare Card Challenge where the theme just happens to be 'Favorite Things'.

I had so much fun making this card for the Forever Friends Challenge last night, the theme this week is 'Monotone'. I have masked the image to get the little girl bear with the balloon to stand behind the piggy back bear's which was a present from my good friend Paula, thanks again Paula. I have coloured them using my distress inks and I have used 3d glaze on the balloon. I also got to use my stampin around wheel 'Its beautiful' on the background of the card, I just love these wheels, was thinking of maybe decorating the living room with them lol. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. x

One Stop Craft Challenge~ Torn.

Another week has passed already and its time for this weeks One Stop Craft Challenge again. This week the theme is set by Shelley and it is 'Torn'. This is one technique I haven't used very often but I really enjoyed it, thats what I love about challenges, trying new things that I wouldn't usually try. I have used my distress inks to stamp this image and while it was still wet I went over it with my waterbrush, I quite like the effect and it was so simple to do. Hope you will join us again this week, I loved seeing all your stitching in last weeks challenge. Pop over to the One Stop Craft Challenge blog to see the other dt members creations and check out what one lucky winner will win this week. Think I'm getting back on track now with my card making, I managed to make two cards last night although one of them was very quick and simple, I will put that one on next. I have coloured it using prisma pencils and sansador, not too pleased with my colouring on this one. "All Stitched Up"

Hi everyone, Sorry I've been absent for a while (feel like I'm writing a letter to a teacher lol) but we've had a very sick household this past week. Between tonsillitis (me) Chicken Pox (My youngest) and a trip to casualty with my daughter who bent her fingers back on a trampoline and ended up with her hand in a splint, I've not had a minute to myself. But, my throat is totally fine now, Chicken Pox are almost gone and well Jessica's fingers are still very swollen and bruised but we're getting there. So, I managed to get some time to myself for this weeks One Stop Craft Challenge and I really enjoyed the theme picked by Sharon this week, 'All Stitched Up'. So, needles at the ready (or pens) whatever sort of stitching you prefer, faux, cross, blanket...the choice is yours. This week there is a fabulous prize on offer from the one stop card shop online store, so check out our challenge here and see what lucky randomly chosen winner will take away. Good luck. x

Citrus Colours.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to become part of the Stampin Up family as I just LOVE the products, so last week my fabulous kit arrived, I couldn't wait to get the box open and have a play with all the lovely stamps, inks and especially the Stampin Around Wheels, It was like Christmas lol. I had been dying to get a go of that wheel for so long, so do you know what i did? I got a HUGE piece of card and wheeled till my heart was content, then do you know what I did? I invited my friend up so she could wheel too lol. We weren't disappointed. So this is my very first card that i have made using my kit and it fits in perfectly with this weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge which is 'Citrus Colours'. If anyone is interested in purchasing any Stampin Up Products or if you live in N.Ireland and would like to attend/hold a workshop then don't hesitate to contact me, my e mail address is on my sidebar.
