Aging Beautifully!

Happy St Patricks day peeps! I am feeling so rough today and no....not self inflicted lol, no Guinness involved! Just one of those tummy bugs that like to hit the whole family, my son had it on Friday and it hit my daughter and myself last night. It didn't last too long with my son so hopefully it will be gone tomorrow. On a brighter note I got these fabulous stamps delivered on Friday and I'm in love with the 'Aging Beautifully' stamp set from Sheena Douglas, I had so much fun making the backgrounds to these cards and was over the moon by the effect I got with Sheena's stamps. The first card is using Crafters Companion 'Flowers from Bamboo' and I coloured it with promarkers, isn't he cute? The background is made with distress inks and the Aging Beautifully stamp set. The second card is much the same Crafters Companion image 'Toread' stamps and coloured with promarkers again the background is made using distress inks and Aging Beautifully stamp set. Right, I'm getting texts from my daughter.  (can you believe she's texting from her bedroom and we don't live in a mansion lol ) Enjoy the rest of your day. x

Forever Friends Monthly Challenge

Good Morning and Happy New Year! lol Can't believe this is my first post for 2013! Its good to be back! Well its half way through our Forever Friends Monthly Challenge so I'm here to remind you of this months challenge and the goodies you could win if you take part. This month the theme is
Animals
which includes birds and butterflies!

This month we are sponsored by Joanna Sheen and look at the fabulous prize you could win!

As always you don't have to use a Forever Friends Image but if you do then you will be entered into the Forever Friends Favourites category and this month it is being sponsored by Saturated Canary and they are kindly giving the winner two digital images of their choice.

Here is my card for this months theme, I have used a little Forever Friends decoupage kit that came with matching papers, I cut out little triangles from cardstock to make a bit of bunting which suits the nautical  theme I think, I also found the most perfect little anchor button from my button tin, no idea where I got it from but perfect embellishment, then finished it all off with some eyelets and scalloped edging.

Heres a little sideview of my card, I always use 3d glue (pinflair) for my decoupage, it gives you a bit of time to move the layers into the right position before it sets, unlike foam pads.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Lets Craft and Create ~ Happy Birthday
Word Art Wednesday ~ Love/Anything Goes
Tuesday Throwdown ~ Anything Goes
Clear It Out ~ Red/White Items. Theme ~ Anything Goes
Craft Us Crazy ~ Use your favourites (mine is forever friends)

Extra Layers

Morning, hope you are all keeping well, I'm sorry I haven't been about, the fact is I haven't even switched on my computer for days I've been so busy and I'm on my 6th day of giving up smoking (again!) this time I'll do it!!! But it does take it out of me, when I quit I feel very tired as well as grumpy and unmotivated but I'm going to persevere and hopefully there is a nice Donna on the horizon. Well its my last post as guest designer for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge and I've really enjoyed the themes they have come up with, this week the theme is
this weeks sponsor is My Grafico  and I have used one of their beautiful silhouette images for my card. Its a very simple card so not much to talk about lol but I love this butterfly and think it looks fab with all the extra layers, something a bit different than my usual cards.
Right, today I am off to the Christmas Market with my sister, I've got the morning off work and don't want to be sitting in the house thinking about cigarettes so I'm off to see santa! Enjoy your day whatever you are doing. x

Tuesday Throwdown ~ Autumn Leaves

Happy Tuesday everyone, a few weeks ago I was asked if I would be a guest design team member for the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge for the month of November and of course I was delighted to accept and honoured to be asked, so here is my first post as guest design team member. The theme this week is
'Autumn Leaves'
and this weeks sponsor is the fabulous Robyns Fetish Digital Stamps

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps

I have used one of their gorgeous images on my card and coloured it with spectrum noir pens, I can't for the life of me remember where I got this lovely designer paper from but though it was perfect for this weeks theme, I've embellished my card with twine, flowers and a button, keeping with colours of autumn.
Hope you join in the challenge this week and check out the beautiful samples from the Tuesday Throwdown Design Team. Enjoy the rest of your day, I'm being treated to a date night tonight, my partner works away alot and is back for a week so we are going for a meal, then on to see the comedian Patrick Kielty then spending the night in a hotel, can't wait! I love being spoilt! :-)
